Dion Joannou serves as Chairman of the Md7 Advisory Board. Dion has 14 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry, including serving as Chief Strategy Officer and President of North America for Nortel Networks. Prior to his departure from Nortel in August 2007, Dion was responsible for over 50% of Nortel’s revenues totaling between $5B and $6B with 5,000 employees. Dion’s major customer relationships in the US included Verizon, Sprint Nextel and AT&T. Dion’s prior positions at Nortel included serving as President of Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) and leading the Vodafone Global Account for Nortel in Europe. In December 2007, Dion was appointed to the Board of Directors of Dialogic Corporation, a private company with sales of approximately $250M in the communications hardware and software arena. Dion also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of a small email start-up company called WrapMail. In December 2008 Dion was appointed as CEO of the Neptune Society, a privately owned, national memorialized cremation company based in South Florida. Dion currently is acting as an advisor to both TowerBrook Capital Partners, L.P. and MatlinPatterson Global Advisers LLC, two New York based private equity groups. Dion holds a BA from Southern Illinois University and MBA from University of Miami in International Business studies. Dion's wife Claudia is from Peru and together they have three young sons. Dion is an avid tennis, motor-cross rider and golf player.
